Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

Orthopedic Specialty Clinic offers leading edge pain and healing therapies.

PRP Therapy is a non-surgical treatment that uses your own concentrated blood platelets to promote healing and repair damaged tissue. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is blood plasma with higher concentrations of platelets.

PRP Therapy is increasing in popularity due to its successful use by professional athletes for injuries and chronic pain.

PRP treatments allow for fast and highly effective healing of many conditions and injuries that have not responded to other treatment methods.

What Conditions Are Treated With PRP

  • Acute/Chronic Tendon and Ligament Injuries
  • Knee Arthritis
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Rotator Cuff Tears
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Osteoarthritis

How Does PRP Therapy Work

Studies have shown that the concentration of growth factors and cytokines in PRP can speed up the healing process of ligament, tendon, and joint injuries.

PRP is prepared by first drawing blood from the patient. The blood is processed through a centrifuge machine isolating your plasma and platelets. Your own platelet-rich plasma is then injected directly into the injured area.
